Today’s treasure is a serene antique watercolor seascape by listed artist George Howell Gay (1858-1931) titled “Napatree Point, Rhode Island”.
Set in a gorgeous hand carved wooden frame and secured behind glass with a wire on back, ready to hang.
The artist is actually a Milwaukee native (what a coincidence!) but lived most of his adult life in New York. He is known for seascapes and landscapes, primarily watercolor. His works were exhibited at both the National Academy of Design (NY) and Boston Art Club (MA).
